Brooke Anderson ,'13, plays volleyball and is a member of the FCCLA.

She recommends the book 19 Minutes by Jodi Picoult. It's about, "There is a guy named Peter [who] was best friends with a girl [that suddenly became] popular. Once she stopped being his friend, he got made fun of, went crazy, and shot 10 people but made sure not to kill Josie." The story line is intense.

Even when friends go separate ways, they should not be mean to each other. And losing a friend isn't the end; it's the beginning. There aren't more friends to make, and many people in the world. For another perspective on bullying and people's response to it, try reading Please Stop Laughing at Me by Jodee Blanco.
