Clay City 7th Grader Hope Zuber won the Clay County Spelling Bee on Monday, February 5. Hope competed against students from Flora and North Clay Schools, as well as her Clay City peers. She came out on top by correctly spelling "communing" in the last round. Other Clay City students who qualified for and competed in the Clay County Spelling Bee include Jake Farris, Tyler Boyd, Connor Barfield, Destiny  Lister, Harley Flexter-Rawls, Calin Stockwell, Jacie Sebring, and Layla Frank.
