Looking for ways to incorporate math into family game night for young children? Each person rolls the dice and adds, subtracts, or multiplies the numbers Dice and Money. Each person rolls a die and gets the number of pennies as dots shown. Trade in 5 pennies for a nickel, dime, and so forth.

The Clay City CUSD #10 Board of Education has decided that school will be closed April 8, 2024. This is the day of the solar eclipse and we want to make sure that we are doing what we can to protect the safety of our students and staff. Based upon guidance from state and local emergency officials the board believes that closure is our best option to keep everyone safe.

Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) Information The IAR is a computer-based standardized assessment for all students in Grades 3 - 8 that is designed to measure students’ progress toward the the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics, as well as the Standards for Mathematical Practices. IAR was created to replace the PARCC test, and it is shorter in length. Clay City students will take the IAR on the following dates. The dinosaurs are coming for family literacy night on March 5. There is a home ball game that evening but it was the only date that worked for both the dinosaur show and us as they travel to St. Louis for their next gig.
