Mrs. Klein's second grade class completed their unit on habitats with group drawings and acrostic poems!


Friday, March 21 will be a Hat Day to celebrate National Ag Week. Students may pay $1 to wear a hat to school. All proceeds will go to Ag In The Classroom, sponsored by the Clay County Farm Bureau.


Our AR point board is up to 27 students! Our student sitting in the 50 point bracket is extremely close to hitting 100 points... Stay tuned!


ALL Clay City 2023-2024 yearbooks are in stock. If your student is a 2024 graduate, please stop by the unit office for pick up.
If you missed ordering, don't worry! Yearbooks can still be purchased: elementary/JH - $15, high school - $20.


Birthday in a Bag for students K-2 will be this Friday, March 21. Please remember to send your student with a drink and snack!


Spring individual pictures, spring sports, and club picture day will be on March 25th. Pre-K - 8th grade picture order forms will be going home today. If high school students would like spring pictures, they will need to pick up their order form in the high school office.

Mrs. Kuenstler's fifth grade class has wrapped up their unit on the Iditarod. Student Josie Harvel won first place in the classroom race. Her musher finished second in the Iditarod. Way to go, Josie!


Mrs. French's fourth grade class raised the most money for the American Heart Association Kids Heart Challenge. As a reward, Mrs. Mitchel escorted the students to The Scoop on Main where they were all served ice cream. Big thanks to The Scoop for making this happen for our students! Great job kids!


Fourth graders Hazel Wilson and Lawrence Harvel were the top two fundraisers for the AHA Kids Heart Challenge. As a reward, each student was able to ride a fire truck to school on Friday morning. Mrs. Mitchel and Clay City Schools wants to thank the Clay City Fire Department, Brandon Mitchel, and Jacob Martin for making this happen for these two students. Congratulations to Hazel and Lawrence!




Mrs. French's fourth graders had a boba party for reaching 600 A’s! Way to go kids - keep up the good work!

Miss Fender's first graders had a glow party for positive classroom behavior yesterday. Students got to play glow bowling, tic tac toe, ring toss, and coloring. Everyone had a blast!



Clay City Schools will release at 12:02pm on Friday, March 14.


Clay County Young Leaders came to speak to Mr. Wattles' class. The students were informed about farm safety on the roadways. They watched a presentation then went outside to check out a spray rig. The students were able to get in the cab to see from a farmer's point-of-view just how difficult it can be to see vehicles on the road. Thank you to Clay County Young Leaders for educating our young drivers on this type of road safety!




Mrs. Kuenstler's fifth grade class is hard at work learning about the Iditarod. They have read a chapter book, “Stone Fox”, completed literary elements discussion about the book, and then watched the movie to compare and contrast. The students did an Iditarod magazine project with multiple writings as well as completed a musher biography. Currently, they are tracking their musher each day and placing their musher on a map in the hallway. The kids are eager to see who will win the 2025 Iditarod as well as which 5th grader (musher) comes in 1st in the classroom.
