8th Grade Recognition Night for JH Basketball Players and Cheerleaders is scheduled for Wednesday, January 22nd. JV game starts at 6:00pm and 8th graders will be recognized before Varsity game starts at 7:00pm.
CCJH students held a spelling bee in each class. Some of these students will participate in the county spelling bee on January 31 at Floyd Henson Junior High in Flora. Congratulations students!
Sophomore Jackson Dye and eighth grader James O'Dell were recognized for their entries in the VFW Patriot's Pen and Voice of Democracy contests. These students won at the local level, representing Flora's VFW. On Sunday, January 19, a banquet was held at Olney VFW Post 4226 to recognize all of the district finalists. O'Dell grabbed the second place spot for his Patriot's Pen submission. Clay City CUSD #10 is proud of these students and their amazing submissions. They represented Clay City well!

It has come to our attention that a name was left off our junior high high honor roll. Here is the corrected list and photo.
Clay City CUSD #10 schools will not be in session on Monday, January 20 in observance of MLK Jr. Day.
During the school's honor roll assembly, Mrs. Hildebrand held a gift card drawing with the names of students who were on the lists. Congratulations to these students!
Clay City Schools also wants to recognize those students with perfect attendance during the 2nd quarter of the year. Way to go - great work!

Winter Weather Update!
Clay City Banking Co. held a candy guessing contest for all the students at Clay City Schools. Whomever guessed the closest won that candy plus an additional prize. The elementary and junior high students were announced prior to Christmas break. Our high school students received gift cards to local eateries. Our high school winners were as follows: Vicky Hurd, Jordyn Shadle, and Jack Dye.
