Mrs. Hildebrand’s freshmen World History class capped off their unit on Ancient Egypt with some special guests much like the sophomores did last week! Students were tasked with creating mini-lessons on topics in Ancient Egyptian history that most interested them. This time though, Mrs. French’s fourth graders joined the World History class today and were able to learn about Ancient Egyptian agriculture, children’s lives, constellations, and mummification. The fourth graders were awesome guests!

Thursday, November 21 is Family Reading Night sponsored by the Illinois Secretary of State, State Librarian, and Illinois State Library. Family Reading Night is sponsored in cooperation with iREAD, an initiative of the Illinois Library Association, and Illinois Reads, a project of the Illinois Reading Council. This is an event that you can take part in from the comfort of your own home. Just sit back and read with your student! A flyer discussing what Family Reading Night is all about will be coming home with pre-k through 5th grade students. At the bottom of the flyer will be a portion for the student to fill out and turn back in. Mrs. Goodrum will then hold a drawing and some lucky student will receive a $10 gift certificate to The Scoop! Happy Reading!
