NC/CC HS Baseball (10-3 ,4-1 NTC) advanced to the championship game in the Cardinal Classic, which was canceled due to weather. Their next game is Monday 9/23 at Woodlawn.

Clay City Junior High Basketball will be holding an open gym after school until 5pm on September 24, 25, and 26.
Miss Fender's first grade students adopted a cow! They named their cow "Moo Cow." They will receive monthly updates from The St. Louis Dairy Council. This is a very fun way to teach students where dairy products come from. They are very excited for our next update!
The CCJH Cross Country meet scheduled for today - Thursday, September 19 - at Newton has been cancelled.
Mrs. Hildebrand's World History classes are finishing up their unit on Ancient Sumeria. Over the last few weeks, freshman and sophomore students have played a three-thousand-year-old board game, practiced cuneiform writing on real clay tablets, recreated an ancient recipe, and learned how to do math using a sexagesimal system. Their last project is curating a digital museum exhibit with Sumerian artifacts.

Clay City seniors and eighth graders will travel to Olney Central College for Blue Preview Day on September 25. They will enjoy a tour of campus and learn more about OCC's programs of study. Students will have the chance to win door prizes and even a $500 scholarship.

Very proud of these kids for leading the pack on IXL. Junior High weekly competitions target 🎯 number of skills proficient. Great job Clara and Tyler, Emmett and Daniel. Each earned a cone at the scoop. They will also be entered into a prize drawing for tickets to big splash.
Clay City Schools held their first pep assembly of the year today! JH baseball and softball, along with HS baseball, were recognized during the assembly. The teams participated in a relay game while the school cheered them on. Mrs. Klein's 2nd grade class walked away with the Spirit Stick too!
